What Happens When We Give Away Our Energy

Most leaders think they’re exhausted because of workload. They’re not. They’re exhausted because they keep giving away their energy. Every time you react, seek approval, get defensive or attach to outcomes you’re not just feeling stress. You’re giving away your energy.
It shows up as:
• Needing recognition
• Controlling others
• Interrupting or dominating conversations
• Seeking validation
• Blaming, criticizing, or judging
• Creating drama or tension
This is what creates toxic cultures. Not strategy. Not structure. Energy Vampires. When people feel depleted, they start trying to suck energy from others.
From an energy physics perspective:
Energy is always moving. If you don’t learn to stop giving yours away you’ll become an energy vampire as well. Truly inspirational leaders have learned to break this cycle. They don’t give away their energy so they have no need to feed off of the energy of others.
They:
• Stay grounded under pressure
• Let go of the need for approval
• Release control over outcomes
• Respond instead of react
So the real question is:
“How am I giving away my energy and what can I do to stop?”
