The Cost Of Our Unconscious

Humans are the only species with the luxury of being unconscious. Every other animal must remain fully present in order to survive. But our unconsciousness comes at a great cost. This is where much of human suffering begins.
When we are unconscious, we live through the conditioning of the ego. We react instead of respond. We become trapped in fear, attachment, resistance, and judgment. We give away our energy to conflict, anxiety, comparison, and the need to control outcomes.
The more unconscious we become, the more disconnected we are from ourselves, from others, and from the present moment. Developing the habits that enable us to lower our walls brings us back to presence. As resistance fades, we begin to experience greater clarity, emotional intelligence, compassion, and freedom from unnecessary suffering.
Presence changes the way we see the world.
As we deepen our understanding of people and ourselves, we begin to see complexity where we once saw simplicity. Certainty gives way to curiosity. Judgment softens into awareness. The ego, which once needed to be right, begins to loosen its grip.
We begin to recognize that many of the behaviors we once condemned in others are often expressions of fear, pain, unconscious conditioning, and emotional survival patterns. This is the beginning of wisdom.
The unconscious creates drama, chaos, conflict and war. Consciousness creates understanding, trust and connection. The more conscious we become, the less energy we waste defending ourselves from life. This is where inspirational leadership begins.
Not through control.
Not through force.
But through presence.
Our behavior and results are directly connected to our level of consciousness. As we become more conscious we free ourselves from the fears that have created so much pain and suffering.
